Getting started

Start with a vessel and a clear investigation question. Keep observations, interpretations and missing information separate.

1. Sign in to TITUS

Open TITUS and use the account provided by your administrator. Do not share account passwords. If you cannot sign in, contact your company administrator or Flavian Systems; a public self-service password-reset process is not documented as available.

Sign out when you finish, particularly on shared computers. If your session expires, sign in again before attempting another protected action. Treat an unexpected pre-sign-in expiry message as an issue to report.

2. Find the vessel

Use vessel search with a name or a nine-digit Maritime Mobile Service Identity (MMSI). Confirm the identity and available source timestamps before relying on a match. Names can be ambiguous or change over time.

The existing dashboard provides vessel listings and details. The presence of a record does not mean its position is current. See data freshness and limitations.

3. Start a case in the staged workspace

Staged Company-private investigation cases are part of the newer workspace. If your environment includes it, enter a case title and vessel MMSI, then choose Create case and capture evidence.

  1. Use a specific question, such as “What observations exist around the reported incident time?”
  2. Review the captured source, observation time, gap explanation and limitations.
  3. Add an analyst note to explain why this capture matters.
  4. Save another capture when there is new evidence; revisit earlier captures to compare what changed.

If these controls are absent, your environment does not yet include this staged workflow. Check feature availability or request a demonstration.
